Beyond her professional achievements in driving cost reductions and optimizations, Neville values honesty, transparency, and accountability in both her work and personal life. She actively supports St. Jude and enjoys reading, attending book clubs, camping, fishing, visiting museums, and exploring new restaurants with her husband. Her Interview
Ten minutes with Joan
01What do you attribute your success to?
My achievements come from the support of my husband, parents, family, and friends. I have a very demanding job but my spouse understands my travel. I am passionate about my work and always excited to come in, focusing on win-win situations for everyone involved. Nothing that a 5-minute call cannot solve.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Try different things and be open. Be willing to learn and have patience. Educate yourself, try different opportunities, understand what skills you have to enhance to get there, and have a plan. Make small steps as it doesn't happen overnight. Reach out and ask questions, no question is too small. In heavy industries which can be a man's world, patience and dedication help.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Dealing with market trends, government policies, and tariffs heightened by global socio-economic topics which impact global supply chain, making negotiation and the commercial side challenging. Need to stay informed and aligned for compliance.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty, transparency, and accountability are key. We are all human and make errors, so learn from mistakes and look at the positive side. Consistency and honesty build trust and reputation. Winning is great but losing is also a chance to learn.
