Joana Canals

Joanna Canals serves as Director of Marketing and Communications for Growth Technologies, a company in the agriculture field based in Nebraska, while she works from her office in Las Vegas, Nevada. In this capacity, she draws on her extensive background as a storyteller to communicate the benefits of the company's Nitromag fertilizer product, having followed farmers and learned the agricultural space over the past three years. Canals earned a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcasting from the University of Utah in 1995. Prior to her current role, she spent 30 years in television journalism, beginning with an unpaid internship at the NBC affiliate in Salt Lake City while pursuing her degree, followed by work with the Utah Jazz Magazine and Channel, producing and reporting roles at stations in Salt Lake City, San Diego, and Denver, and a 12-year stint hosting Colorado's Best on Fox 31 and Channel 2 affiliates. She previously engaged in philanthropy and fundraising for organizations during her news career.
