Joanna Ma Nagashima, PMP, is a Senior Construction Project Manager at Boost Mobile with extensive experience managing complex construction projects from planning through execution. She began her career at Swinerton Builders as an Intern Project Engineer and advanced through roles at Gilbane Building Company, where she served as Project Engineer, Superintendent, and Project Manager before joining Boost Mobile. Joanna has led major projects including campus upgrades for semiconductor manufacturing and new student services buildings.

She holds a Master of Science in Project Management with a focus on Construction Management from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Southern California, where she was active in Alpha Rho Chi and the Construction Management Association of America. Joanna is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Construction Manager In Training (CMIT).

Recognized for her leadership and performance, Joanna has received honors such as Gilbane’s Rookie of the Year and was a candidate for the Management Acceleration Program. I attribute my success to careful planning and collaboration—overseeing projects like the rollout of 600+ cell sites has taught me the importance of working closely with all teams to ensure everything runs smoothly and is done right.

The best career advice I’ve received came from my mentor, Mike Sika, who encouraged me to embrace opportunities for women in the industry and always be confident in my abilities.
