Her Story

About Joanna

Joanna Zambella founded Jay-Z Consulting Agency approximately two years ago in Keene, New Hampshire, after a diverse career spanning more than 20 years. She grew up in the printing industry working in her family's graphic arts company, moved into sales where she learned authentic relationship selling, became an elementary school teacher after earning a degree from Bridgewater State University, invested in real estate, and later worked in fundraising and media sales. Today her firm focuses on business growth and strategy, marketing visibility, systems implementation, and community events for clients seeking to scale their operations. She holds a degree in operations and management with a minor in economics from UMass Amherst. Joanna serves as Chair of the Board for the Teen Housing Kids Collaborative, on the boards of the Greater Monadnock Collaborative and Juvenile Conference Committee, and belongs to local Chambers of Commerce. She organizes the Growth by Giving Music Fest, which has donated over $10,000 to nonprofits. She attributes her success to consistent hard work and facing fear, and she advises others to never settle while remaining authentic.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Joanna

01What do you attribute your success to?

I was never the prettiest, the strongest, the fastest, or the smartest. But I always knew that I could work hard. It's really facing fear. Being able to embrace it. There's no growth without discomfort.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Never settle. It's very easy to get down, very easy to struggle with stuff. Being authentic is very important, authentic to the people you work with, authentic to yourself.
