About Joanne
She is an accomplished advisor, entrepreneur, and higher education leader with over two decades of experience in program evaluation, educational assessment, and strategic growth across the nonprofit and education sectors. Currently serving as an Advisor and Consultant to startups and early-stage companies, she advises on growth, governance, and strategic relationships, drawing on her experience founding and exiting BeyondAdmissions, Inc., a certified B Corporation recognized with B Lab's Best in Governance honors in 2019 and 2020. As Founder and CEO, she built the company into a mission-driven organization that served roughly 35% of clients pro bono or on a sliding scale. Prior to that, she spent 12 years as Director of Evaluation and Educational Assessment at UCLA's Division of Undergraduate Education, where she oversaw campuswide Evaluation of Instruction, led the transition from paper to online evaluation, supported curriculum development and assessment across departments, and advised faculty on best teaching practices. She also taught a Community Health Sciences course on college success grounded in cognitive-behavioral theory, identity development, and communication. Earlier in her career, she worked as a Higher Education Consultant, advising colleges and universities on program evaluation and student success. She is recognized as a strategic, mission-driven, and collaborative leader who combines deep expertise in education and assessment with entrepreneurial vision to create meaningful impact.
