About Joanne
Joanne Zaki brings between 25 and 30 years of experience to the accounts receivable industry. She currently works for an investor in Beverly Hills, managing accounts for companies with positive cash flow, including media and international data groups. In this role, she interfaces with sales, operations, and clients to resolve discrepancies, align with contracts, and ensure timely payments while tightening processes to improve cash flow. Her career path includes prior positions at Club Monaco, Foundry (purchased from Yahoo), Regency Lighting for 18 years, and Countrywide Home Loans. She attributes her success to hardships that fostered independence and self-sufficiency, as well as working with reputable companies and intelligent colleagues. Zaki values trust, honesty, and mindfulness in both her professional and personal life, and she advises maintaining a positive outlook, being a people person, managing managers for accountability, and avoiding emotional decision-making in leadership.

01What do you attribute your success to?
My hardships in life led me to be more independent and trust in myself as a woman. Failed relationships taught me self-sufficiency. I pour myself into work when struggling emotionally, setting goals and feeling productive. Working for reputable companies with intelligent people gives me drive to push forward.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Have a good positive outlook so you can be a people person and manage through difficult situations. It's all about working well together. Managing your managers to make sure everybody's accountable.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be mindful and try not to be so emotional in the position. Don't micromanage, trust your employees, and try to be a little more level-headed.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Challenges include businesses suffering financially due to the economy, AI causing layoffs in tech, making it hard to bring in payments timely. Working to tighten processes like reaching out before invoices are due to ensure timely payments.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Trust, honesty, and mindfulness are very important. Being sensitive to other people's emotions and cognitive of everybody around us to accomplish good things together.
