About Jocelyn

Jocelyn Robles holds a bachelor's degree and a master's degree, both in psychology. Her interest in industrial and organizational psychology led her to manufacturing, where she began at ThermoFlex as office manager and HR manager. Within a year, she was promoted to logistics manager, and shortly thereafter to plant manager. During her four years in the role, she enjoyed the variety of responsibilities, including reviewing daily production reports, coordinating with supervisors, and walking the floor to support her team. Robles values respect and fostering a positive work culture where leaders remain humble and care for their people. She recently decided to pursue new opportunities in business administration with her family's business after feeling that something was missing from her previous path.

Ten minutes with Jocelyn

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

It's not about the mistakes that you make, but what you do afterwards, that's what really defines you. If you're doing something and you feel like it's not there, what are you gonna do moving forward.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Go for it. You won't know until you try. It is still a male-dominated field, don't be intimidated, you're there for a reason, you got the position for a reason, you don't have to prove anyone anything. Just be yourself.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge is managing people - toughen up and have difficult conversations while separating work and relationships, but it's also the best thing. Opportunities are endless; you could go anywhere like finance or marketing, though in Phoenix you might need to move as companies are mostly on the East Coast.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Respect is number one - treat everybody as equals, we're all equal with different opportunities. For work, make sure you have a good work culture: be human, be a person, be humble, and care about your people.
