Her Story

About Jocelyn

Jocelyn Stimpson is a tech distribution and sales professional currently serving as a Field Account Executive at TD Synnex, where she manages a portfolio of the top thirteen to fifteen accounts across Southern California. In this role, she works closely with C-level executives, leading complex contract negotiations, delivering high-level presentations, and connecting customer teams with the engineering resources they need. Her career in the industry began early, with roles at a startup and at Dell/EMC following its acquisition of Mozy, before she moved on to positions at Cisco Systems and later TD Synnex, building a reputation along the way as a relationship-driven, results-oriented sales leader. Beyond her corporate career, Jocelyn has cultivated a private jewelry business that has grown steadily through word-of-mouth referrals. After earning her wholesale license in jewelry five to six years ago, she taught herself the craft of jewelry design and now offers both curated catalog pieces and custom creations, with a particular focus on engagement rings and personalized, sentimental jewelry. She is now weighing the possibility of transitioning this venture into a full-time pursuit, and is in the process of building out a website and social media presence to support that next chapter. Alongside her business ventures, she also dedicates time to mentoring small and large business owners. A mother of twin daughters, Jocelyn traces much of her professional drive back to witnessing her parents' financial hardships growing up, which instilled in her a lifelong commitment to independence and self-sufficiency. She sees the rising presence of women in tech and sales as an encouraging industry shift, and she hopes to serve as a positive example for the next generation of women, including her own daughters. Outside of work, she enjoys staying active, spending time with friends, and relaxing at the beach, and she previously relocated from California to Texas in pursuit of greater financial flexibility and long-term stability, including her goal of homeownership.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Jocelyn

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to watching my parents face financial struggles growing up, which became the strongest motivator in my life. I've worked since I was 13 years old, and that early work ethic has stayed with me. I never want to depend on anyone else, and as a mother, I'm driven to set the best possible example for my daughters and build a legacy they can be part of.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Nothing is impossible! It's your life and you can decide what you do with it. Isn't that a beautiful thing?

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice is simple: don't doubt yourself. Starting out can feel like drinking from a fire hose, but everything is learnable with time and effort. Take advantage of the many resources available to you, and never underestimate the power of relationships — in tech and in sales, the connections you build and maintain are what carry your career forward.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest opportunities I see is the growing number of women entering tech and sales, which is an encouraging shift in an industry that has traditionally been male-dominated. The challenge that comes with that is the continued need for visibility and role models for women in the field. At the end of the day, success in this industry still comes down to the strength of the relationships you build.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Financial independence is one of my core values, both professionally and personally. I'm deeply committed to setting a strong example and building a lasting legacy for my daughters. Strong, trust-based relationships matter greatly to me in my work, and I care about supporting and empowering other women, both in business and in life.
