Her Story

About Johane

I've been working in self-care business development since 2023, which I started after my divorce. That's when I created my Digital Dormi Self-Care brand, Jadormi. I went back to school to get my MBA because I wanted to build my self-care brand while also continuing with the corporate journey in business development. So on the side, I do my self-care brand, and in the meantime, I am still actively doing sales and development as well. My most notable professional achievement was becoming an insurance broker with Primerica for 5 years, running my own office in Boca Raton, and having 40-plus agents that I recruited. When I moved to Winter Haven after my divorce, I realized that even busy professionals, moms, and everyone else have so much going on that we don't really take care of ourselves. That's why I created Jadormi, which basically means 'I adore,' and I was trying to find a name that wasn't just 'I love myself, self-care.' The brand name is about making sure that you put yourself first, because you can't give into an empty cup. I'm a single mother who's been through a lot of domestic violence, and getting back into the workforce and back into school, I wanted to make sure people realize that you don't have to have it all. It's imperative that you take the time to really take care of yourself. That's why I created these massage products, journals, journal prompts, and a self-care book called 'Love Yourself' that's on my website. My future plan is to have these journals and self-care products in different businesses and jobs so I can get a corporate offer to implement these products into the regular day-to-day workforce. I want people who are working to have massage products and journals to help them as an additional source for their day-to-day basics. I'm also going back to school to get my doctorate degree because I want to get better in business. My goal is to work with HR in different avenues in the future, creating a hybrid-style environment where employees feel appreciated and have tools to help them deal with the stress that happens in day-to-day work.

01What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I believe it's very imperative to take care of yourself and prioritize your mental health. I feel like we don't really prioritize ourselves - we're so busy doing everything else that we forget to take care of us, and we're not as kind to ourselves. I started journaling after leaving my domestic violence situation, and it helped me regain my strength and dignity in who I am. That's what allowed me to go back to school and do my bachelor's in 2021. All of that came from making sure that I took care of myself and poured into myself. I feel like we say we love ourselves, but we don't really do it - like, hug yourself, take care of yourself, you know, you're deserving of great things. This all comes from my faith in God. I love God, and anytime that I get to spend with God is important to me. I also believe you can't give into an empty cup, and if you're able to get out of your horizon and travel, do it - it's literally like a mini therapy.
