About Joi
Joy Isabella Carla Salvino works at the intersection of nonprofit research and law. With three years of experience in her field and two years in her current position, she spends her days answering messages, assigning tasks to staff, researching policies, and conducting background studies on contemporary news topics to determine how best to engage people moving forward. She recently joined the United Nations Council for Sustainable Development Goals for Central, which she considers her most notable professional achievement to date. As part of her studies, Salvino is completing a selective internship with the Attorney General of Canada, an experience that is preparing her for a future career in law. She is a member of Grad International and volunteers with the Filipino nonprofit Kadanka, which empowers ethnic voices in underrepresented spaces. Salvino has received the Carnegie Young Leader award for physical preparedness and the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Her professional mentor is Michelle Howe of the City of Toronto.
