About Jolene
I began my career in education as an alternative education teacher. I went back to get my reading license to help middle school kids who couldn't read. I became assistant principal and then principal of the alternative learning center. I own an Airbnb called Scrappin' on the Ranch with campground that started from a divorce situation to support my kids, and I co-own a gym and mini storage buildings. My mentor Bonnie Strobe inspired me to pursue leadership.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be open, honest, and vulnerable. Be real rather than filtered. Focus on positive self-talk and honest conversations. We need more women in leadership roles in education.
