About Jolyn
Jolyn Thompson is the City Clerk and Treasurer, a role she has held for seven years. Prior to this, she served two and a half years on City Council. Her professional background includes real estate, years of customer service across multiple fields, and significant experience in bookkeeping and accounting. She notes that much of her training for government finance has come through on-the-job experience. Jolyn is deeply committed to her community, volunteering extensively including as a driver for the local ambulance district for just over a year. She values time highly and actively fights for work-life balance while emphasizing that she approaches her work by doing what needs to be done and collaborating with others when required, recognizing that no one is indispensable.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I just do it because it needs done. If I can't do it alone I find people to help because I know I'm not indispensable.
02What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Time is very valuable. I fight for work-life balance and am big on volunteering.
