Her Story

About Jonelle

I started my career on the acute care side, later transitioning into post-acute care in 2008, where I found my true passion. Since 2019, I’ve been working with what is now Arvon CIN a physician partnership with Corewell Health East. I initially joined in a consulting capacity, helping to build and develop a performance network, and about three and a half years ago, I transitioned into a direct employee role.

Today, I manage the Post-Acute Performance Network, collaborating closely with Skilled Nursing Facilities, Home Health Agencies, physicians, and hospitals. My role is centered on ensuring patients are discharged to the most appropriate level of care and receive the resources they need to remain safely out of the hospital. I focus on improving outcomes by keeping patients in the least restrictive environment possible—often their home—while ensuring they receive high-quality, coordinated care.

What I love most about my work is the ability to help patients behind the scenes. Many of them will never know I exist, but I advocate for them every day—working alongside incredible healthcare professionals to ensure patients have the support, resources, and care they need to succeed in their environment.

I’m fortunate to work with a network of passionate individuals and organizations who truly care about making a difference. In complex cases—especially when patients have multiple comorbidities—it truly takes a village. Strong relationships, collaboration, and shared commitment to patient satisfaction and outcomes are key.

And when things don’t come together perfectly, we view those moments as opportunities to learn, grow, and strengthen our approach—so we can continue improving and better serve our patients moving forward.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Stay true to yourself. If something doesn’t feel right, trust that instinct. It’s so important to stay aligned with your values, your goals, and the reputation you want to build for yourself. You only get one name—and your reputation is everything.

When opportunities come your way—especially the ones that seem too good to refuse—take a moment to pause and reflect. Ask yourself: Why does this feel so irresistible? Is this truly the right fit for me? Is this opportunity setting me up for success, or could it be setting me up for failure?

Throughout my career, I’ve had to turn down some very tempting offers in order to stay true to who I am and what I believe in. Those decisions weren’t always easy, but they were necessary—and I’ve never regretted them.

At the end of the day, I can sleep at night knowing I’ve done the right thing. I’m proud of the name I’ve built and the way I’ve carried myself throughout my journey.

More than anything, I want my children to look at my life and my choices and feel proud of their mom—not just for what I’ve achieved, but for how I achieved it.
