Joni Christian

Joni Christian serves as a Minister of Extravagant Welcome and Pulpit Supply Minister. She began her ministry work in 2017 after retiring from a 31-year career at General Motors, where she progressed from production to quality control. Joni has been affiliated with her church in Silver Lake for the past 14 years and has provided pulpit supply services for nine years. She completed 10 years of classes through Partners in Ministry with the United Church of Christ and is authorized and licensed to perform marriages, burials, and baptisms. Joni is actively involved in LGBTQ+ activism and has helped multiple churches achieve open and affirming status. She is a member of the United Church of Christ and the Living Waters Association. Although she has taken extensive ministry training, Joni has chosen not to pursue ordination or a full-time pastoral role, preferring to serve on a supply basis while maintaining a flexible schedule.
