Her Interview
Ten minutes with Joniesha
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my passion for learning and my commitment to continuous personal and professional growth. I am fascinated by how the brain works, which motivates me to keep expanding my knowledge through business seminars, professional certificates, and lifelong learning. Every opportunity to learn helps me become a better entrepreneur and leader.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Rather than crediting a single mentor, I consider lifelong learning to be one of my greatest mentors. I continuously invest in my personal and professional development by attending seminars, earning certifications, and studying topics such as entrepreneurship, leadership, communication, nonprofit management, psychology, and personal growth. I have a deep fascination with how the mind works, and I believe that understanding human behavior enables me to become a stronger leader, entrepreneur, and servant to my community. Above all, I believe that remaining teachable is one of the greatest strengths an entrepreneur can possess, and I embrace every opportunity to expand my knowledge and apply what I learn to better serve others.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I encourage young women to never live in fear or allow self-doubt to limit their potential. Believe in yourself, maintain a positive mindset, and remember who you are. Stay present, love yourself, embrace your confidence, and trust that your unique journey is unfolding exactly as it should. Use your imagination to pursue your goals, and never be afraid to create the future you envision.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges is navigating the complexities of funding, including loans, grants, and the requirements involved in establishing a nonprofit organization. Understanding organizational structures, securing financial resources, and finding the right guidance can be difficult. At the same time, there are tremendous opportunities through networking, mentorship, and organizations that connect entrepreneurs with valuable resources, education, and professional support.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I value bringing people together as a community and believe we all have a moral responsibility to love, inspire, and support one another. I strive to do no harm, give back whenever possible, and live with gratitude. I believe in the power of humankind working together, helping one another grow, and creating positive change through compassion, kindness, and service.
