Josefina Giordano is the Chief Executive Officer of ArtePatio, a premier outdoor living design and solutions company. With a clear vision for elevating outdoor environments through innovative design and enduring quality, she leads the company in creating custom pergolas, outdoor kitchens, shade systems, and related outdoor living elements for both residential and commercial properties. Under her guidance, ArtePatio has earned a reputation for blending functionality with refined aesthetics that enhance how people experience outdoor spaces.

Josefina’s professional journey began with a dream of becoming an architect, but she first graduated as an accountant to support her family business. Driven by her passion for design, she later pursued architecture, completing a rigorous five-year university program and graduating as valedictorian. Her academic excellence earned her a scholarship to pursue a master’s degree in urbanism in France. Influenced deeply by the vibrant outdoor life in European cities, she studied anthropology, psychology, and design to understand how public parks, streets, and urban areas connect people with their environments. After contributing to significant urban transformation projects with a major mayor in her home country of Venezuela, she relocated to the United States due to political instability.

In the United States, Josefina and her husband saw an opportunity to translate their expertise into the private sector by specializing in outdoor spaces for commercial and residential properties. They focused on researching durable materials suited for outdoor climates and became trusted dealers and distributors for high-quality manufacturers across Florida and the Caribbean. Today, ArtePatio offers thoughtfully designed solutions including outdoor kitchens, pergolas, decking, and more, reflecting Josefina’s deep understanding of spatial connection, material performance, and how outdoor environments can foster meaningful human experiences.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I've always been inspired by entrepreneurs like Jeff Bezos, reading their biographies and books about how their beginnings were hard, but they focused on doing something good for others and kept going until they got the rewards. My father is my greatest example - he went from Italy to Venezuela looking for opportunity and prospered despite many obstacles. I grew up watching him manage those challenges, and I learned that with constancy and keeping your dream in front of you, you can reach it. Those stories and his example have always inspired me to keep pushing forward.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

First of all, do what you are really good at. When you're passionate about something, you're usually very good at it. Whatever your expertise is, you have to trust yourself. Constancy is key keep working at it. Join organizations like the Chamber of Commerce for networking. Right now there are more training programs for women and small businesses, though big companies are usually managed by men. For a young woman, the most important thing is to trust herself, keep growing, keep getting knowledge and connections, and keep her dreams in front of her. That's the advice I would give.
