Before launching her proofreading business, Josie built a meaningful career in healthcare, working as a Nurse Care Manager with Anthem, Inc., and holding various nursing roles with organizations such as Crossroads Hospice and Visiting Nurse Health System Atlanta. Her background in nursing provided her with a disciplined, detail-oriented approach that seamlessly translated into her work in proofreading and editing.
Josie’s educational journey began at the University of the Cumberlands, where she studied Nursing, and she later enhanced her professional skills through specialized training in proofreading. Outside of her professional pursuits, Josie continues to cultivate her passion for language and helping others, bringing dedication, care, and meticulous attention to every project she undertakes.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to never giving up and putting those I serve above myself. I have a natural curiosity that has proven to be a plus through the years, and has no doubt contributed to my success.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I ever received had to do with being open to new things, and learning as much as possible about the new challenge.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't allow yourself to feel lost. Dig right in and learn as much as you can. Be kind to your clients and peers.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge is marketing and finding the right fit for a project. There are many more professionals than projects, so the problem of getting noticed is real.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in my work are honesty and integrity. Important to my personal life are enjoying travel, making the most of my time share experiences, and having fun through activities like karaoke.
