Joumana Ali Hamadeh

Career and Technical Education (CTE) Director and Title III Coach
Hamadeh Educational Services
Dearborn Heights, MI 48127

I bring over 30 years of experience in education across both international and U.S. settings. I began my career at the International School of Choueifat (SABIS Network) in Beirut, Lebanon, teaching science and social studies. There, I built a strong foundation in student-centered instruction and cross-cultural education, which continues to shape my leadership approach. I later advanced into academic supervision and operational roles in Saudi Arabia, where I strengthened my expertise in curriculum oversight, school operations, and instructional leadership.

In 2011, I joined Hamadeh Educational Services (HES), where I have continued to grow as a compassionate and creative educational leader focused on student success. A key accomplishment has been leading the development and establishment of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Center, expanding student opportunities through pathways such as health sciences, automotive technology, journalism, and culinary arts, and equipping students with practical, real-world skills.

Currently in my third year in Career and Technical Education, I remain dedicated to bridging academic learning with workforce readiness. I oversee and strengthen CTE programs while working to expand offerings, including new pathways such as Gaming Software Development, Cyber Security, Broadcast Media Art, and Building Information Technology. I stay actively engaged with students, continuously enhancing hands-on learning experiences and introducing innovative opportunities.

I also serve as Director of Title III, supporting English as a Second Language (ESL) students by promoting language proficiency, confidence, and academic achievement, while collaborating closely with educators and families to ensure an equitable learning environment.

I earned a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration with a minor in Education from the American University of Beirut, and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Central Michigan University. My work reflects a strong commitment to continuous improvement, cultural responsiveness, and empowering both students and educators.

I proudly work at the CTE Center, “The Nest” a place where passion meets purpose. It is an environment where students discover their strengths, build confidence, and gain real-world skills. Looking ahead, I am committed to expanding partnerships beyond the local community, including collaborations with institutions such as Lawrence Technological University and Henry Ford College, to provide students with greater access to resources, mentorship, and future pathways.

I am proud to be part of Hamadeh Educational Services, a family-oriented community that fosters connection, growth, and inspiration. Creating a welcoming and supportive environment where students feel valued is central to our mission and essential to developing well-rounded, successful individuals.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a steadfast commitment to my goals and mission, along with a deep belief in empowering and supporting others. I strive to lead with purpose by fostering a culture where students and staff feel valued, encouraged, and equipped to succeed. Providing comprehensive support—whether instructional, educational, or social-emotional- has always been central to my approach.

I make it a priority to go above and beyond in meeting the diverse needs of those I serve, particularly our students. I believe that student success is rooted not only in academic achievement but also in overall well-being. Creating a welcoming, inclusive, and positive school environment is essential, as it allows students to feel safe, respected, and motivated to learn.

Additionally, I attribute my success to building strong relationships, maintaining high expectations, and leading with empathy and consistency. By cultivating a supportive atmosphere and modeling a commitment to growth, I aim to inspire both students and educators to reach their full potential.

I am also deeply grateful for the unwavering support of my family, my husband, and my children, whose encouragement and belief in me have been a constant source of strength throughout my journey.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received was to always act with integrity and make decisions based on what is best for students. I’ve learned that perseverance, empathy, and building strong relationships are key to effective leadership. Staying committed to my values while empowering others and embracing challenges has shaped my growth and success as an educational leader

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering education leadership or CTE is to lead with integrity, persevere through challenges, and exercise patience as you grow in your career. Build strong relationships, support those around you, and be unafraid to take risks. Continuously learn, collaborate, and stay true to your values. These qualities, combined with patience, will help you make a meaningful and lasting impact on students and colleagues alike

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in education today is preparing students for a rapidly changing workforce while meeting diverse learning needs. My experience both overseas, in Lebanon and Saudi Arabia, and in the U.S. has shown me the importance of combining rigorous academics with practical, real-world skills. Career and Technical Education presents a major opportunity to equip students through hands-on programs and industry partnerships, while supporting multilingual learners ensures all students can thrive. By blending innovation, global perspectives, and student-centered support, we can help students succeed in an interconnected world.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are integrity, compassion, perseverance, and patience. In my professional life, integrity guides every decision I make, while compassion ensures I support students and staff in meaningful ways. Perseverance allows me to navigate challenges and keep moving toward my goals, and patience helps me foster growth in others while maintaining a positive, encouraging environment.

In my personal life, these same values are reflected in my relationships with my family, my husband, and my children, whose support and encouragement have been essential to my journey. Ultimately, these values shape how I lead, inspire, and make a lasting impact on the people around me.
