Her Interview
Ten minutes with Joy
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my faith in God and keeping the people around me.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is to not give up on what you want to do. The more no's you get, the closer you are to a yes.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't be afraid to do something different. Something that you might be passionate about, but that might be different from what other people are doing. As long as you're pursuing something you're passionate about, you'll have fun, and the success will follow.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Moving from a W-2 to a 1099 is challenging because of inconsistent income and having to pay health insurance out of pocket, but it's all worth it.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Ethics and punctuality are most important to me.
