Her Story
About Joy
I am an Account Executive at Sage Impact, a multi-billion dollar financial management, accounting, and ERP company headquartered in England with a new headquarters in Atlanta. I've been with them for about a year after pivoting from nearly 20 years in the music industry. My background includes internships at major labels like Asylum/Elektra and Atlantic under Warner, work at Interscope Records as Southeast Regional Promotion Director, time on Janelle Monae's management team, and roles at Rock Nation. I graduated from Southern University in mass communications and radio broadcasting, started in grassroots marketing, founded my own company for national campaigns, and now focus on artist development and helping creatives integrate tech and AI for efficiency and revenue growth. I authored Prosper on Purpose to help creatives involve God in their plans.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice came from Grammy-winning producer Brian Michael Cox who told me 'you will always be successful because you know the art of timing.' Timing is everything; don't force opportunities, wait for alignment, and all money isn't good money. Rejection can be protection, and prayerful waiting for confirmation leads to the right path.
