Her Story

About Joyce

Joyce Garcia is the Founder and CEO of Legacy Ensured Group, a financial services company based in Austin, Texas. She helps individuals, families, and small business owners protect what they are building, prepare for retirement, and create meaningful legacy strategies with greater clarity and confidence.

Her approach is rooted in education, trust, and long-term relationships. Rather than leading with products, Joyce takes the time to understand each client’s complete financial picture, personal priorities, and future goals. She believes that financial strategies should be personalized, easy to understand, and designed to help people feel more secure and prepared for every stage of life.

Joyce also serves as the Executive Region Chair for the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Texas, Austin Region, where she supports entrepreneurs, promotes business growth, and helps strengthen connections within the community.

Originally from the Philippines, Joyce’s journey has taken her across countries, cultures, and industries. She studied at the University of the Philippines and built a professional background in business, operations, customer service, and relationship-building before transitioning into the financial services industry approximately eight years ago.

She founded Legacy Ensured Group seven years ago after realizing she wanted a career that would allow her to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others while creating greater flexibility and balance for her own family. Her experience, compassion, and commitment to doing what is right have helped her build a strong reputation for integrity, credibility, and genuine care.

Joyce is passionate about helping people make informed financial decisions that support both their immediate needs and long-term goals. She believes strongly in the power of networking, collaboration, mentorship, and consistently showing up for others. Her business has been built through years of authentic relationship-building and a sincere desire to serve.

Guided by faith, family, purpose, and service, Joyce brings a thoughtful and empowering perspective to financial strategies. Her goal is to help every client feel educated, protected, and confident about the future they are building and the legacy they will leave behind.

Ten minutes with Joyce

01What do you attribute your success to?

I definitely attribute much of my success to the mentors and coaches who have guided me along the way. Having the right people in your corner is so important. I still work with two personal development coaches and regularly reach out to them for guidance, perspective, and accountability.

I truly believe that you cannot do everything on your own. You can study, read books, and learn as much as possible, but some of the most valuable life and business skills come through experience and from people who have already walked the path before you.

No matter what industry you are in, having someone who can guide you, challenge you, and help you grow is one of the best investments you can make in yourself and your future.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is to persevere. Life will always throw unexpected challenges and curveballs your way. Sometimes you may need to pivot or adjust your approach, but the important thing is to stay focused on where you are going.

As long as you keep moving forward, remain open to learning, and do not give up, you will eventually reach your goal.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice would be to first make sure this is truly what you want to do. A lot of people enter this industry and immediately leave their current job, but I always encourage them to start part-time. Give yourself the opportunity to learn the business, build your confidence, and determine whether it is really the right fit for you.

I believe you should consider making the transition full-time only after you have consistently earned enough to replace at least six months of your current salary. At that point, you have proven to yourself that you can succeed and that the business is becoming sustainable. Until then, I would not recommend simply jumping in without a plan.

There are also many companies that promise the world and make success sound easy. The reality is that this is still a sales profession, and success requires developing the right skills. You have to learn how to communicate, build relationships, understand people’s needs, and provide real value. Focus on building those skills, become good at what you do, and then make the move into the industry full-time.I

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest opportunities is being able to serve people from different generations and backgrounds. At this stage in my life and career, I naturally connect with more individuals who are preparing for retirement or are already retired. At the same time, the work I do allows me to help younger people begin building a strong financial foundation early.

One of the challenges, and learning opportunities, is understanding how younger generations communicate and think. My daughter is 20, and I learn so much from her about the language they use, their culture, their priorities, and the way they process information.

I believe that to truly serve people well, you have to understand your audience and meet them where they are. The younger generation may communicate differently, but I am always open to learning and growing. With the help of my daughter, I am learning how to connect with them more effectively so I can better understand their needs and serve them in a meaningful way. I am always up for a good challenge, especially when it helps me become better at what I do.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity is one of the most important values I try to live by, both personally and professionally. My faith in God is also at the center of my life, so I always strive to be spiritually led in the decisions I make and in the way I serve and lead others.

Family is equally important to me. I make it a priority to spend time with my family, and I encourage my agents to do the same. Life happens, and sometimes family responsibilities or unexpected situations need to come first—and that is okay.

That is also why having a strong team is so important. We support one another, step in when someone needs help, and work together to make sure everything is taken care of. To me, true leadership is not only about achieving results; it is about leading with integrity, honoring God, valuing family, and creating a team culture where people genuinely support one another.
