About Joyce

Joyce Landwehr serves as Permit Coordination Manager, bringing more than 25 years of experience in the field. She primarily works with architecture firms, managing the permitting process once drawings are produced. This includes making initial code calls to reviewing agencies at local, county, and state levels, obtaining approvals and permits for various project types such as ground-up construction, renovations, and adaptive reuse. Her typical day involves due diligence calls to jurisdictions across multiple states, following up on submissions, coordinating with architects and consultants on plan updates, and addressing issues during construction through to permit closeout. Landwehr attributes her success to taking ownership of her role and considering how her decisions impact the full project team. She values honesty, trustworthiness, and being straightforward and direct in both her professional and personal life. Her educational background consists of the school of hard knocks supplemented by leadership classes and a Dale Carnegie course. She advises being flexible, open-minded, willing to try new things, speak up, ask questions, and continue learning. Landwehr has built strong relationships with jurisdictions through repeat projects and values hands-on opportunities and mentors that helped her learn the trade.
