What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my passion for the media world, which began when I attended broadcaster school in 1980. Since then, I have built a diverse career in public television, freelance writing, and editing, including producing projects for local PBS stations. Highlights of my career include interviewing President Clinton, which was broadcast on four radio stations, and collaborating on a wide range of media projects that allowed me to grow my skills across writing, reporting, and production. I am deeply motivated by the opportunity to inspire and help others while continuously learning and exploring new facets of the media industry.

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to do work that I truly enjoy. Finding a career that aligns with my passions has allowed me to stay motivated, continuously learn, and deliver my best work, while also making a meaningful impact in the media world.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the media industry is to embrace their curiosity and pursue their passions with confidence. I hope to inspire them to explore every opportunity, develop their skills across multiple platforms, and never underestimate the impact they can have through storytelling, creativity, and dedication.

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are creativity, curiosity, and connection. Professionally, I strive to tell stories that inform and inspire, while continuously learning and exploring new skills in the media world. Personally, I cherish experiences that spark joy and creativity, such as traveling to national parks with my best friend and designing costumes for theater productions, which allow me to stay inspired and bring a sense of imagination and passion to everything I do.
