About Judith

Judith Charlton is the Administrative Officer at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she manages the calendar and travel for the Port Director and CEO Joseph Morris and oversees an administrative coordinator. She began her career with Broward County government in March 2000 and has accumulated 26 years of service across roles in information technology support and human resources learning and organizational development. While in learning and organizational development, she developed and launched the Extraordinary Administrative Professional Program, which graduated 68 participants and supported promotional opportunities for administrative staff. In addition to her government role, Charlton founded the CLJ Foundation in January 2019 following the loss of her son, focusing on education about organ donation, support group sessions for the transplant community, and assistance to the pediatric dialysis unit at Jackson Memorial Hospital. She holds a degree in dance and human movement studies from Hunter College after completing high school and secretarial training in Jamaica, and she has volunteered extensively with the South Florida Kidney Organization and the South Florida Donor Network, receiving awards for her contributions.
