Her Story
About Judith
Judith Orcutt is a designer and artist residing in Savannah, Georgia. She graduated from Temple University with a degree in pharmacy in 1962 and practiced in the field for 35 years. Finding the long hours and demands of pharmacy challenging, particularly as a single mother, she began pursuing her lifelong interest in art around 1985. Orcutt started with calligraphy classes at the YWCA and expanded into pressed flowers, photography, scanography, encaustics, and cold wax. She is largely self-taught after initial classes and workshops. Her photography has earned several awards, and she maintains a presence in a gallery on Tybee Beach near Savannah. Orcutt has shared her skills by teaching pressed flower classes, workshops, and some calligraphy classes.
