Her Story
About Judith
I've been doing manuscript consulting for about 25 years, and it goes through my website where there's a page for the consulting arena that shows what I do, how much I charge, and the clients I'm taking on. The clients that I have had often get their books published, and one was recently the prize winner of the Dorset award from Tupelo Press, which I'm really proud of. She's an amazing writer, and I helped to edit her manuscript. The client I'm taking on now and very excited about was a student of mine at Hugo House in Seattle, probably a decade ago. We were really close, she came to my home, and she purchased a painting because I also paint. Prior to manuscript consulting, I taught at various colleges and universities, mostly in the private sector. When I moved to the West Coast from the East Coast in 82, I went to City University, which is national, and was a faculty member teaching humanities, Western civilization, business communications, and the rare English literature course that I could get my hands on. Then I went over to University of Phoenix when things got to be a little more dicey at City. I was mainly in the classroom teaching communications, humanities, and a lot of business writing for people who are going to be in industries and needed to know how to write and communicate. I also tutored at Yellowwood Academy, supporting students who were going to take the SAT or the LSAT. Now, as I've gotten older, my main focus is on my own writing. I love putting together manuscripts of my own, and I have a book forthcoming titled Oppression from Shanti Art publishing. Christine Cote is the editor, it's an indie press in Maine, and she's wonderful to work with. She's done two other of my poetry collections, so I trust her. I'm also putting together another manuscript on actually having a disability, because it's not easy and I have a lot of poems about that. One of my loves and passions has always been writing poetry and reading poetry. I also paint, and my visual art can be found on Saatchi Art.
