Her Story
About Judy
Judy Mahoney is a retired healthcare professional with approximately 45 years of experience. She started her career by obtaining funding for the Cameron Clinic in a medically underserved area of West Virginia, which ignited her passion for improving healthcare. She advanced in health insurance to roles as a stop-loss analyst and claims auditor, handling high-dollar catastrophic cases. Sponsored by her employer to become a nurse, she graduated from her nursing program and began in neurosurgery critical care at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She later served as assistant director of nursing, worked in transplant medicine across four states for four and a half years, and returned to health insurance in health coaching and complex case management. After completing her master's degree in nursing education, she taught health assessment at a local university for several years. Now retired and living in Daniels, West Virginia, she holds a master's certificate in spiritual direction, drawing on her Jesuit education to support others through personal and spiritual transitions as a changemaker.
