Her Interview
Ten minutes with Judy
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to staying curious and always asking why. A mentor told me the reason I would be successful is because I have so many questions about everything, and to keep that and always ask the why. That mindset has helped me move beyond execution to strategic thinking.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I received was to always ask why rather than just following procedures. My mentor said the reason I would be successful in this industry is because I have so many questions about everything, and to keep that and not get lazy.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Stay curious, keep learning, and continuously learn because the industry changes constantly with technology, data, automation, and how consumers engage with media. Do not get too wrapped up in clicks or workplace dynamics that don't serve you. Take what helps you grow, learn from what doesn't, and be the one to break the cycle of toxic behavior. Stay curious, stay kind, keep learning.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
AI is a big challenge and opportunity. We are learning that for the next 5 years or so, AI still needs human involvement to make it efficient and effective. You can't just use AI alone. Figuring out that role with AI constantly progressing is going to be the biggest challenge.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are curiosity, integrity, continuous learning, thoughtful leadership, resilience, and creating healthy, supportive environments. I believe strong leaders should advocate for their employees, recognize their potential, provide opportunities for growth, and create workplaces where people feel supported and empowered to succeed. I also value perspective, balance, and making a meaningful impact through my work.
Family and motherhood have shaped my perspective on success, encouraging me to look beyond titles and promotions and focus on fulfillment and positive impact. As I consider my next professional chapter, I want to continue growing personally and professionally while pursuing meaningful work that aligns with my values, allows me to lead thoughtfully, support others, and make a lasting difference.
