Her Interview

Ten minutes with Julia

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to consistency and integrity. I try to approach opportunities for the right reasons and pursue career paths because I genuinely find them interesting or because they allow me to develop new skills, rather than pursuing them solely for money or superficial reasons.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have received is that I can be ambitious without sacrificing kindness. When ambition is combined with kindness, I have found that I can build meaningful connections with people and create opportunities for productive, collaborative resolutions.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would encourage young women entering the legal and corporate healthcare fields to become forward-thinking strategists and to recognize the value of working at the intersection of law, digital technology, and healthcare. Developing strong technology fluency can help bridge legal and technological disciplines, and the skills gained in corporate settings can be extremely valuable beyond the traditional law firm environment. I would also encourage young women to pursue opportunities that allow them to develop practical business skills while remaining open to emerging technologies and new ways of solving problems to bridge legal and technology, as these skills from corporate settings are invaluable.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

There is significant opportunity in corporate environments to develop skills that are not always as accessible in traditional law firm settings. In particular, technology fluency, automated processes, and the intersection of legal and healthcare operations are creating opportunities for professionals who can understand both business and technology. These developments allow legal and contracting professionals to contribute not only to risk management but also to broader strategic and operational initiatives.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity is one of the most important values to me, both professionally and personally. I also value mentorship, particularly supporting and encouraging young women and young lawyers who are pursuing careers outside traditional law firm settings. I believe that maintaining integrity and investing in meaningful professional relationships helps build stronger, more collaborative working relationships.
