Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I'm going to tell you that it is very much around mentorship. Throughout my entire career, I always had a career coach, and I am blessed to say that it is something that I didn't have to pay for. There was always someone that saw my talent and invested in me to help me grow. When I worked for Macy's, I was consistently put into leadership forums that helped me grow from a leadership and a career development perspective. In the past companies I worked for sponsored leadership programs like Chief and WIT, specifically for woman ,which gave me the opportunity to have someone next to me to guide me through my career, help me use the right tools , write down and understand my career goals, and define exactly what I wanted to be when I grow up. These relationships helped me not to be afraid to walk away from a good company in order to grow and learn. Its important to know when you are becoming stagnant in a role which could mean finding your next adventure. Having a coach to help me make these type decisions was the best advice given, because it changed my life, my career while restoring my work-life balance. Throughout my career, I have coached and mentored at least 20 people which included many promotions, and now I am taking my own advice, dont stop continuing to grow. I have completed my BlackBelt Six Sigma and Scrum Master certifications, while pursuing a Masters in AI, which are things I should have started years ago. Because of my belief in Christ and the strength I get from my family and friends, I am enjoying learning new technology while in search of my next career and new found purpose in life.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is to stay open to change and trust the process of growth. Careers are rarely linear, and being adaptable while continuously building your skill set can lead to opportunities you may not have initially anticipated.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My first point would be find a mentor, find a coach. Find somebody that you feel that you respect and feel comfortable with guiding you through your career. So look for somebody that you want to be when you grow up, and then maintain that relationship throughout your career. It's good to have someone on the outside to bump things up against that will give you open honest feedback. The more mentors the better. Secondly, continue to be a sponge always willing to learn something new. Always be that person that is ready to advocate for change, because in any field, nothing will stay the same. Going to forums and leadership conferences, like those sponsored by TAG - Technology Association of Georgia, where you're meeting people from all areas in technology, provides collaboration and partnerships opportunities. Always maintain that sponginess around you, and never be stagnant in what you're doing.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I see the rapid advancement of AI as both the biggest challenge and the greatest opportunity in my field right now. Innovation is moving incredibly fast, but there’s still a lack of clear regulation and governance—especially in industries like healthcare. This creates a real need for leaders who understand both the technology and the compliance landscape. I view this as an opportunity to help organizations implement AI responsibly while upholding strong ethical and regulatory standards.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I lead with integrity, accountability, and resilience in both my work and personal life. I believe in doing the right thing, even in complex and highly regulated environments like healthcare. Mentorship and empowering others are also incredibly important to me, as is maintaining a mindset of continuous improvement and lifelong learning.
