Her Interview
Ten minutes with Julia
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the incredible mentors who have guided me throughout my career, a strong support system, and the strong work ethic instilled in me by my parents. My husband has also been an invaluable source of encouragement and support.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is to never wait until I feel completely ready. I believe in advocating for myself, embracing opportunities, and leading by example regardless of my title. I also value lifting others as I grow and keeping an open mind to opportunities rather than closing a door too soon.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to embrace every opportunity, never stop learning, and continually seek out strong people who inspire and challenge you to grow. Be confident in your abilities, maintain a strong work ethic, genuinely care about others, and lead with both purpose and heart.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The shortage of healthcare professionals, but also like qualified healthcare professionals, a lot of them are going back to staff and not really traveling right now after the peak of COVID. Burnout, and it honestly transcends even outside of the travel world. Hospital work in general. We hear all the time that healthcare professionals are overworked and underpaid.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is number one. Always do the right thing even if it's not the most popular thing to do, or if no one is watching, just always do the right thing, always stay true to yourself, be genuine in everything that you do, and give it 100%.
