About Juliann
She is an accounting and financial operations professional with experience in staff accounting, assistant controller responsibilities, accounting leadership, financial records, and organizational support. She currently works as Assistant Controller at Webb and has long-term accounting experience with the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, where she has served as Staff Accountant and Accounting Lead. She also has internship experience with Block 22 LLC and holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Boise State University.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Be true to yourself. Don't try to be something you're not. Being yourself will prove more in your work life than trying to pretend to be something you're not.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Know that it can happen, you can do it. I have 4 children and work full-time. Know that you can find a balance. It just takes time and it might look different than other people's, and know that that's okay.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Challenges are sometimes just deadlines, making sure that other people are hitting the deadlines that we need in our department, and having to be flexible and work around sometimes their schedule. Opportunities would be just working with other departments and helping them understand the importance behind our department, and that accounting is an integral part of what they do.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Communication, respect, integrity, honesty. Respect is the biggest thing. Someone that has integrity, that is honest in what they do. Own our mistakes and learn from them.
