About Julianna
Julianna Danson began her writing career around the year 2000 as a travel writer while working as a waitress in Orange County, California. Her first book, Sun, Sand, and Surf: The Ultimate Guide to Orange County Beaches, proved highly successful and led her into Christian writing and publishing. She has since authored Chessboard of the Soul, which applies Bible principles and chess strategy, as well as The Secret Beaches of Laguna. Danson continues to write travel articles for IPA Magazine and teaches chess professionally, having done so for approximately 20 years. She is a member of Payal, which organizes Christian conferences primarily in New Mexico, and volunteers with HIAL, a Christian organization that cares for widows and orphans while providing evangelical outreach and support for homeless individuals entering drug rehab. Danson is also a breakout speaker, including at the August 27-29 conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where her session is titled Train the Brain.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
If you have a title for a book, type it into Amazon.com to make sure that title's not taken. You want a unique title that is short, sweet, and to the point, preferably starting closest to A. Start with a table of contents first. Use KDP for print-on-demand publishing which is free including ISBNs. Follow through when opportunity presents itself.
02What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Look at internal consequences in context of eternity, not just here and now. All decisions have eternal consequences. Hold loosely all things that are not eternal. Everything is about who I want to be when I meet the Lord. Life is a testing ground.
