Ten minutes with Julianne

01What do you attribute your success to?

Drive, determination, integrity, resilience, a strong work ethic and the desire to always keep learning

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received was to work hard, be persistent, and take pride in everything you do—because consistent effort and self-respect open doors that talent alone cannot. Be a problem solver, never part of the problem. Find your unique abilities that make your a strong asset to the organization. Don't be too zealous to jump ship because the grass looks greener on the other side. Make sure any job change is well thought out and not just a lateral move for the wrong reasons. Finally, look for the best in people and make a difference.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the marketing/communications industry is to work hard, be persistent, and take pride in your personal brand. In a field that's constantly evolving with digital and streaming platforms, your work ethic—and having something you love, something to do, and something to look forward to—will keep you grounded and fulfilled.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

AI and AI. Artificial Intelligence...the great disrupter, is providing many opportunities for innovation and efficiency. Sadly, however traditional media will never be the same. Live and local used to mean something to the consumer...but increasingly, the human element is being phased out and replaced by content consumed in shorter, less impactful attention spans.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty, integrity, loyalty, faith and love.
