Her Interview
Ten minutes with Julie
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a strong work ethic, well-developed sales skills, and effective time management. I am also a people-oriented professional who values building strong relationships through kindness and respect. Each day, I focus on making a meaningful difference in my work and in the lives of others.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to be able to navigate both the peaks and valleys of my professional journey while continuing to move forward. I’ve also learned the importance of surrounding myself with a strong, supportive network and intentionally staying connected with positive, encouraging people.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
For young women stepping into this industry, the biggest advantage you can build early is confidence rooted in competence. Learn your product inside and out. When you truly understand what you’re offering and why it matters, it becomes much easier to speak with authority and handle tough situations.
Don’t feel like you have to fit a stereotypical “sales” mold. People respond to authenticity far more than pressure. Listening well, being clear, and genuinely caring about the person in front of you will set you apart faster than any scripted pitch.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
This industry can be demanding, and not every room or audience will be easy. You don’t have to tolerate disrespect to be successful. Professionalism and firmness go a long way in earning respect. Find mentors or peers who are doing it well and pay attention to how they communicate, recover from objections, and stay consistent. Growth happens faster when you’re not trying to figure everything out alone.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are authentic leadership and being purpose-driven. I strive to advocate for those in need, guided by a strong sense of responsibility and compassion. I also believe that success comes from persistence and never giving up, while staying goal-oriented, detail-focused, and committed to excellence in everything I do.
