Her Interview

Ten minutes with Julie

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my life experience. Everything I've been through, having kids, the learning and growing from difficult times like COVID and personal challenges has given me more of a drive to do more things, learn more things, and be a more well-rounded person.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received is to not get discouraged. Just keep moving forward, ask questions, don't give up, keep trying, and you can only improve.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would definitely say work on your communication skills. Don't be afraid to jump in headfirst and try different things. Try that project that may be apprehensive to do because you've never done it before. You can only get better by trying things, so never hesitate to take on a new project or a new task.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge right now is our firm has grown so with growth we have more people and bringing all on the same page procedure-wise and communication-wise is definitely a hurdle because we have people from all different age groups with different mindsets from previous jobs.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Family time is very important, family dinners. With work, I value professionalism and the quality of my work. I am a perfectionist at my job. I also value the conversations that we have at work and at home to be able to open things up for more discussion and communication.
