About Julie

Julie Prichard serves as a manager at RSM, where she focuses on internal stakeholder support for sales and prospect connections through events, programs, and campaigns aimed at intentional relationship nurturing. She also works with many impactful local organizations and supports strategy and development for a dedicated C-suite program. Her career began around 2015 with marketing support for a veteran nonprofit that supported local veterans with home furnishings, financial aid, and if needed specialized service dog training. Shortly after this, she also operated as the in-house marketing director at a small software company to continue to fund her educational pursuits. From there, she advanced to a marketing agency where she helped build and lead a successful website department that ultimately became a major revenue driver for the agency. In 2020, just before the pandemic turned marketing upside down, she joined RSM as a senior associate. Navigating nearly constant change between pandemic shutdowns, economic disruptions, and AI progression - she has progressed to her current role managing marketing operations for several programs and markets across the country. Prichard has navigated corporate motherhood with positivity and resilience. During her time as an employee network group leader, she was chosen as the keynote speaker at a STAR women's employees Network Group gathering, where she highlighted how motherhood rewires the brain for better prioritization, decision making, and multitasking, making supported moms a corporate superpower. She also volunteers as an ambassador starting a Mom Walk Collective chapter in Star, Idaho, to support maternal mental health through community walks.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Julie

01What do you attribute your success to?

Several leaders throughout my career have believed in me, encouraged me to take risks and challenged me to push beyond the status quo. Their support has helped me pursue growth, embrace challenges, and soar to new heights as a leader.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The ability to empathize and build relationships is the key to leadership success. Understand what truly matters to your clients, stakeholders, teammates, and leaders - then communicate in a way that resonates with each of them, build solutions that address what they really care about, and support them in the ways they truly need.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Lifting up other women is going to be the greatest indicator of your leadership capacity. We can soar to new heights when we elevate together.

To the moms or the woman who might be wondering if she can be a mom AND a corporate leader: Don’t let the jokes about “Mom brain” scare you, science has shown that “mom brain” isn’t a reduction in intelligence, it’s a reallocation and rewiring of your brain that allows for prioritizing quicker, multitasking better, and evaluating decisions more holistically. When moms are properly supported, they become one of the greatest superpowers a company has. So if being a working mom is what you want for yourself, don’t let anyone make you second guess your value and potential.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Like so many fields, AI continues to put pressure on marketing. But with every challenge comes an opportunity to innovate. AI can - and will - replace elements of the marketing profession as it evolves, but AI cannot replace authentic human relationships or creativity. It can mimic behavior and even build sophisticated models of how people think or act, but it will never be able to fully recreate nuance and unpredictability of real human connection.

I look forward to seeing how we as a society and as a marketing profession, use AI to improve our businesses, our communities, and the world around us.
