Her Story

About Julie

It's been an interesting ride. I started in a competitive nursing school. At the time in nursing there was no curriculum for infertility or reproductive health. I've been a dedicated women's health nurse for about 25 years starting in obstetrical nursing then seeing adoption and surrogacy. Infertility was a new but still very quiet field of care. I paved my own way seeking out research in infertility nursing on my own. I aligned myself and networked with leaders in the space through being proactive and self-teaching. I have co-created and led and launched several successful business programs for tissue donation and surrogacy under the fertility care umbrella. I've built and mentored dynamic team structures and helped cultivate strong long-term relationships with B2B and B2B2C partners.

Ten minutes with Julie

01What do you attribute your success to?

My success I attribute to my team, my coaches, my mentors, the patients' stories and their vulnerability that have guided me to choose the path that I did and to fill my spirit cup to keep me motivated.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Never be complacent and always put patients first. The best mentors were always forward-thinking. Patient-centered care made me think differently about how I applied my skill set. Listening skills were key.
