What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to being raised in a military family, where I learned the importance of discipline, initiative, and perseverance. That environment taught me how to build my own path by taking ownership of my goals, maintaining a strong work ethic, and staying driven even in challenging situations. Above all, the unwavering support of my family has been a constant source of motivation, pushing me to strive for excellence and continue growing both personally and professionally.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received came from a manager early in my career, when I was in my twenties and trying to understand why people behave the way they do. She reminded me that you never truly know what someone else is dealing with in their personal life and shared how challenges such as alcoholism, addiction, and other hardships can affect people you work alongside every day. That perspective taught me the importance of leading with empathy, taking the time to understand who people are, and recognizing the type of support they may need to succeed.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women entering this industry to be intentional about who they choose to work for and to make sure the organization and leadership are the right fit for their values and long-term goals. Finding a mentor is equally important—someone who can offer guidance, advocate for your growth, and provide support as you navigate challenges. Having the right people around you can make a significant difference in both your professional development and overall career satisfaction.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges is the explosion of technology versus the rigors of science and medicine. Striking the right balance of adoption speed vs patient safety, role of traditional diagnostics vs. technology-driven guidance, and the changing role of commoditized healthcare vs. traditional primary care.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Faith is central to both my work and personal life and guides how I show up for others each day. I believe that we all rise together when we do the right thing, support one another, and act with integrity. Treating people with respect and dignity—regardless of their role or circumstances—is a core value that shapes my decisions, relationships, and leadership style.
