About Juliet
I'm currently a marketing student at Boise State University, but I wear many different hats across several fields. One of my most influential roles is working at a scuba diving summer camp for children on Catalina Island, where I'll be a manager this summer. This will be my third summer there, though I've been working in summer camps for four years total. We set up campers to completely disconnect from technology and their phones and really focus on curating relationships and connections in real time, connecting with nature and the ocean. We teach them incredible skills like scuba diving, kayaking, marine biology, and hiking. The growth I've seen those campers achieve is just incredible. I also work in international student services at my school as a study abroad ambassador and passport agent, helping people get passports and preparing students to study abroad mentally and with all their transcripts and visas. I help them understand what living is going to look like in their host country. I'm also president of the Country Swing Dance Club, where I've built up a club with weekly meetings that's totally welcoming and free for anyone, not just students. I partner with different companies around Boise and we host competitions and teach lessons. What has really driven me to keep building the country swing dance community is that a lot of students come to college and there's nothing to do at night but drink, so I've built a community where you can dance and party sober and really foster connections and move your body and create art with another person. I'm also part of the sales club and just competed in a sales competition at Kansas University. I love building community, which is basically at the core of what drives me.
