Julissa Mackey is an Enterprise Solutions Architect specializing in cloud architecture, DevOps, observability, and enterprise technology solutions. With more than a decade of experience in the technology industry, she has successfully progressed from software engineering and DevOps leadership into customer-facing solutions architecture, where she helps organizations design scalable, resilient, and cost-effective cloud and observability strategies. Currently serving at Dash0, Julissa partners with enterprise customers to modernize their monitoring environments, optimize telemetry pipelines, and improve operational efficiency through intelligent cloud-native solutions.

Julissa began her technology career after completing a programming bootcamp at Byte Academy, building a strong technical foundation that led to roles in software engineering, cloud operations, and DevOps leadership. During her tenure at CleanChoice Energy, she led DevOps teams responsible for cloud infrastructure, software delivery, and mission-critical systems while mentoring engineers and driving infrastructure modernization. She later joined Edge Delta as a Solutions Engineer and Senior Solutions Engineer, helping organizations transform how they manage metrics, events, logs, and traces (MELT) through advanced observability pipelines before advancing into her current Enterprise Solutions Architect role. Her professional credentials include AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, and Certified SAFe® 5 Agilist.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to continually following new opportunities and remaining open to growth. Throughout my career, I have embraced challenges that expanded my technical and leadership capabilities, even when they pushed me outside of my comfort zone. By keeping doors open, staying curious, and consistently investing in my development, I've been able to build a rewarding career across software engineering, DevOps, cloud operations, and enterprise solutions architecture.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would encourage young women entering technology to be prepared for challenges they may not anticipate. Seek advice from professionals whose careers you admire, build a strong network, and remain open to opportunities that offer growth—even if they take you in an unexpected direction. Every experience can become a stepping stone toward your long-term goals, so continue learning, stay adaptable, and never stop investing in yourself.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I believe humility and professionalism are essential in everything I do. Building strong relationships, communicating clearly, earning trust, and maintaining a collaborative mindset have been fundamental throughout my career. I also value simplicity, consistency, and creating solutions that genuinely help teams work more effectively.
