About Jyothi

Jyothi Sri Penmetcha

I began my career as a nutritionist, and I ran into a hard truth early: Nutrition is treated as optional. Patients follow a prescription to the letter, then set the diet plan aside. The advice was sound — it just wasn’t being prioritized.

My research kept pointing to the same barrier. It wasn’t that people didn’t want to eat well; preparing healthy food takes time, skill, and effort most families simply don’t have. So I stopped writing plans and started building a solution. I founded Sri Vedha Health Foods, creating ready-to-cook products from millets and super grains that put nutrition within reach of an ordinary weeknight. Sixteen years on, the company continues to operate successfully in India, and across 15+ years in practice and production I have watched that shift show up in real health outcomes.

My foundation is a bachelor’s in biochemistry and a master’s in dietetics and healthcare administration, with certifications in lifestyle, nutrition, and child care. I have published research on the effect of wheatgrass on anaemia and am a life member of the National Institute of Nutrition. In 2023 I moved to the United States and earned my Master of Public Health at the University of New Haven. I now serve as Site Manager at DOCS Urgent Care, while Sri Vedha health foods continues with the support of my family.

None of this happened alone. My father, a former employee with a central government educational institutions in india never once asked me to make my ambitions smaller. My mother, a homemaker, gave me steady support that has never wavered. My husband renowned doctor in india and children carry that forward every day.
