Jyotsana Shrivastava

I started my career in India where I spent 15 years working with major technology firms. I worked with Cisco Systems for about 7 years and also with Avaya, where I served as an account executive working on service renewals. My work involved building proposals, building solutions, and providing developments while working directly with clients. The role required extensive travel throughout the country to meet with clients. After 15 years of professional experience, I decided to make a switch and came to the United States in 2018 to pursue my master's degree. Since then, I have been working in fintech and payments for 6 years, currently with Discover and Capital One. In my current role, I work very closely with product teams and product managers. My responsibilities include ensuring all work items from intake to prioritization are properly handled so that when work is done for the client or customer, it solves the business need and adds value. I focus heavily on ensuring that product teams take data into account in their decision-making. I also manage metrics and reporting for the entire platform, including KPIs, and I help with team building, mentorship, and streamlining business processes for the product team. My typical day starts around 7:30 AM because we interact extensively with UK-based teams, and I generally log off around 3 or 4 PM. My work revolves around three main pillars: refinement, prioritization and delivery intake; data and metrics; and leadership.
