Her Story

About Kabita

I have always been fascinated by how the world connects. Whether it is the intricate flow of a global supply chain or the delicate patterns of a henna design, I see beauty in systems that work together to create something greater than the sum of their parts. My professional philosophy is simple: efficiency is the engine, but empathy is the driver. I believe that even the most automated systems are ultimately designed to serve people. When I am not optimizing supply chains, I am an artist. As the founder of Kabita Henna Studio, I practice a craft that requires the same qualities I bring to my corporate work: extreme focus, a steady hand, and a deep respect for tradition. I am a woman who believes you don’t have to choose between being analytical and being creative. I am a strategist, a leader, and a creator, dedicated to building a world that is more efficient, more connected, and more inclusive.

Ten minutes with Kabita

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a blend of disciplined curiosity and the courage to bridge worlds. Whether it’s moving between continents to pursue my M.S. at UMSL or transitioning between the analytical rigor of SAP S/4HANA and the delicate artistry of my henna studio, I’ve found that growth happens most when you are willing to be a student in a new environment.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Don’t just manage the process; own the outcome.

In supply chain and in leadership, it’s easy to get lost in the "how", the data, the software, and the daily tasks. But true influence comes when you shift your focus to the "why" and take full accountability for the final result. Whether I’m implementing aATP in SAP or building a community organization, I’ve learned that being the person who ensures the bridge actually gets built, not just the one who drew the plans, is what sets you apart.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Master the technical, but never silence your perspective. In a field driven by logic and systems, your deep expertise in tools like SAP is your foundation, but your unique ability to see the human impact behind the data is your superpower. Don't just sit at the table—lead the conversation.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge and our greatest opportunity is the transition from reactive to predictive supply chains.

The Challenge: Breaking down data silos in a global landscape that is increasingly volatile.

The Opportunity: Leveraging AI and advanced aATP (Available-to-Promise) to create "self-healing" supply chains. We are moving away from simply moving boxes to architecting intelligent, real-time ecosystems.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Precision: Whether in a global logistics strategy or a henna design, excellence is found in the details.

Resilience: The ability to adapt moving between cultures, industries, and technologies without losing focus.

Community: Success is hollow if you aren't reaching back to lift others up. Building "tables" for others, like the Nepalese Student Association, is as important as any corporate milestone.
