Her Story

About Kacia

With 6 years of experience in staffing and recruiting, I've built my career on a foundation of connecting people with opportunities they're truly passionate about. My journey into this field was somewhat serendipitous - I started in real estate doing inside sales, which was essentially matchmaking, pairing the right person with the right agent. When a temporary recruiting position opened up on my team, I was asked to fill in because I'm really good with people, and it turned out to be a natural fit. That temporary role evolved into my career. Most recently, I served as a founding recruiter at a startup called Sarah Bull, where I had the opportunity to help build a team from the ground up and be part of that growth process. My work encompasses the full recruitment cycle - I handle everything from sourcing and screening candidates to coaching them through the interview process, aligning interviews with clients, and managing offers and negotiations. What I love most about this work is that I get to connect with so many different people from different places and backgrounds. Having moved around 10 times before I was young, I have this urge and desire to always meet new people, and recruiting lets me stay connected with my roots while constantly making new connections. One of my greatest strengths is follow-through - I truly get to complete the whole process and connect the whole loop, starting at step one and finishing with the offer process. My proudest accomplishment is helping people find a deeper love for what they're doing, helping them spark their passion so they truly love what they do every day.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would say having great follow-up and always communicating. I think some people come into this without great follow-up, and really having that as a strength has helped me immensely. One of my strengths is follow-through - I truly get to do the whole process and connect the whole loop where I'm starting at one, and then filling the loop of getting them through the offer process, and then finishing it. I get to really round it out with everything, not just step one, the call, but the complete process.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I think just push yourself as much as you can to ask questions, be open, and learn about others. The more you learn about your candidates, the more you know, truly. Just asking questions and learning about others - being curious is so important in this field.
