Her Interview

Ten minutes with Kaelie

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my grandfather and my husband. My grandfather was a well-known bail bondsman and small businessman who taught me to love what you do or you'll regret it every day. My husband pushes me to pursue certifications and opportunities like working with Aramark at Huntington Bank Field, and supports our family while I work.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

My grandfather advised that if you don't enjoy or love doing something, you're going to wake up every day and regret it. If you do something you love, it'll feel effortless. That creates a lifetime legacy.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Love what you do, whether on the ground floor or in corporate. Provide the best hospitality that you would like to be provided to you. Bring people out of their shell to create a true hospitable environment.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge is keeping up with ever-growing technology and new systems for ordering, admin, and service steps. Traditional workers are afraid of the complexity, so the opportunity is collaborating across generations to integrate technology while maintaining hospitable experiences.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Enjoying what I'm doing in life is core. Building and retaining connections for mentorship and advice. Holding family true and near, balancing professional career with family time.
