Her Interview
Ten minutes with Kailyn
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute much of my success to my parents, who have been an unwavering source of support, encouragement, and inspiration throughout my life. As leaders in their respective fields, they have consistently challenged me to pursue excellence, set higher goals, and strive for continuous growth. Their example and belief in my potential have motivated me to push beyond my comfort zone, embrace new opportunities, and continually work toward becoming the best version of myself.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received is to understand what I can and cannot control and to avoid taking things personally. Learning to focus my energy on the areas where I can make a meaningful impact has helped me navigate challenges with greater perspective and professionalism. I have also learned that “no” is a complete sentence and that establishing healthy boundaries is essential for maintaining balance, protecting my well-being, and building respectful, productive professional relationships.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to know who you are and remain confident in your abilities. You are the only person who can truly define your worth and determine the standards you set for yourself. Success often requires patience, self-discipline, and the willingness to continue moving forward even when progress feels slow. Most importantly, remain professional and true to your values, even in the face of adversity. Your character, resilience, and consistency will ultimately speak for themselves.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is navigating the wide range of personalities and interpersonal dynamics that come with working in a people-facing role. Every day brings new interactions, and you never quite know what challenges or circumstances you may encounter. At the same time, that is also one of the greatest opportunities. Each interaction gives me the chance to make a positive difference in someone’s day, whether through exceptional service, a meaningful conversation, or simply creating a welcoming experience.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are intelligence, education, continuous learning, and empowering others. I believe in giving people the tools, knowledge, and support they need to be successful, while also encouraging them to understand the “why” behind what they do and the philosophies that guide their decisions. As a leader, I see myself as an advocate and resource for my employees, committed to supporting their growth and helping them reach their full potential. I also believe in leading by example and putting myself out there as a role model, demonstrating the professionalism, dedication, and continuous pursuit of growth that I expect from others.
