What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the incredible mentors who have shaped my journey. My grandmother, Ruby Jean Chapman, has always been a guiding light—she raised an amazing family, and I’ve always looked up to her. In addition, I have been fortunate to have two remarkable mentors, Laura Ragsdale and Stephanie Elesser, whose guidance and encouragement have been invaluable. Their support has helped me achieve several awards throughout my career.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is simple: always be yourself. In tech, it’s easy to feel pressure to fit into whatever mold seems most accepted at the table, but authenticity is your biggest differentiator. Pair that with being intentional in the work you choose to take on, the relationships you invest in, and the goals you set for yourself. That combination right there authenticity and intentionality has guided every step of my career.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to be curious and confident. Don’t allow obstacles to prevent you from reaching your goals. Seek out mentorship and build your network, as these connections will provide guidance, perspective, and opportunities that can help propel your career forward.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I value hard work above all, believing that dedication and perseverance are the keys to personal and professional success. By putting in the effort and staying focused, I’ve learned that achievement naturally follows, and it’s this principle that continues to guide me every day.
