Her Interview

Ten minutes with Kaitlyn

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute so much of where I am today to the foundation my parents built for me. Growing up, they didn't just teach me what success looked like—they taught me what character looked like. They instilled a steady set of morals and ethics that became my internal compass. In business and in life, it’s easy to get distracted by short-term wins, but holding onto those core values has kept me grounded. Leading with integrity, treating people with respect, and staying true to those early lessons has been the real driver behind every meaningful goal I've achieved.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The absolute best career advice I’ve ever received is to stay true to yourself while practicing genuine sympathy for others. Paired with the strong moral and ethical compass my parents gave me growing up, that advice became my North Star. Staying true to who you are keeps you grounded in your values, while leading with sympathy allows you to connect authentically with people, understand their challenges, and build lasting trust. Real success isn't just about reaching the top—it’s about staying aligned with your principles and lifting others up as you grow.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Get out there, network, and say yes to as many events as possible. Showing up opens doors you didn't even know existed. Build relationships early, stay true to your morals, and lead with empathy—the connections you make today will become your support system, your collaborators, and your biggest champions tomorrow."

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Right now, the multifamily industry is in a real balancing act. We’re seeing a massive wave of new apartment deliveries hitting the market, which gives renters incredible choices and keeps rent growth relatively flat. At the same time, property owners are feeling the burn from skyrocketing insurance premiums, higher taxes, and elevated maintenance costs. The operators who succeed in this environment are the ones who don't just focus on the numbers—they focus on the community. By delivering exceptional resident experiences and staying agile with technology, you can protect your bottom line even when the market is tight.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

For me, everything comes back to two non-negotiable core principles: integrity and family first. Having integrity means that no matter how complex a business decision gets, my word stays gold and my values remain unchanged. But as much as I love my career, work is only part of the story. Family is my anchor and my true primary measure of success. When you hold tight to your ethics and keep your priorities straight, you create a life that isn't just successful on paper, but deeply fulfilling at its core.
