About Kam

Dr. Kam Rider, DNP, MBA, APRN, AGNP-C, is a seasoned healthcare professional with approximately 18 years of experience in nursing, including two years as a Nurse Practitioner. She began her medical career as a medic in the U.S. Army, where her military service strengthened her commitment to helping others and laid the foundation for her career in healthcare. She went on to spend 16 years working in critical care and cardiology before transitioning into advanced aesthetics and functional wellness. Today, as an Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, she focuses on innovative treatments designed to enhance quality of life, promote wellness, and help people feel confident at every stage of aging. Dr. Rider is the owner of a brick-and-mortar healthcare and aesthetics practice in West Carrollton, Ohio, which she has operated for approximately one year. Her business is certified as both woman-owned and veteran-owned and provides services centered on advanced aesthetics, pelvic floor therapies, sexual wellness, medical weight management, and functional wellness. Her professional background allows her to combine extensive clinical experience with a personalized approach to patient care, education, and wellness. She is also an active member of Revival Center Ministries Int'l (RCMI), American Association of Nurse Practitioner (AANP), Sigma Theta Tau Int'l National Society of Nursing (STTI), and Road Nurse Divas (RND), where she serves as Road Captain, reflecting her continued commitment to professional connection, leadership, and community. Service remains central to Dr. Rider's personal and professional mission. She volunteers on medical missions through Operational Serve International (OSI), providing healthcare support to underserved communities in other countries; she recently traveled to Mexico City and is planning a future mission to Africa. She attributes her success to her roots identity as a nurse and the discipline, leadership, and service-oriented values developed through her military background, including recognition she received during her service. Above all, Dr. Rider wants her work to have meaning by helping, teaching, encouraging, and opening doors for others. She considers herself a lifelong student and remains committed to continuous learning, personal growth, and making a positive difference in the lives of those she serves.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Kam

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my deep commitment to nursing, education, and service. Nursing is an integral part of who I am, and even when I am working outside of traditional nursing roles, my passion for educating, supporting, and serving others continues to guide me. My military background has also played a significant role in shaping my character, discipline, leadership, and dedication, and the recognition I received during my service continues to be a meaningful part of my professional journey.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have received is to remain committed to educating and serving others while using my expertise to address meaningful challenges. My work with OSI (Operational Serve International) on health and nutrition programs has reinforced the importance of helping people understand how processed foods can contribute to health concerns such as hypertension, obesity, and diabetes, particularly among younger populations. This experience has taught me to stay informed, advocate for healthier choices, and use my knowledge to make a positive and lasting impact in the communities I serve.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering my industry is to thoroughly research what it takes to build and successfully operate a business before getting started. I encourage them to become involved with organizations such as their local Chamber of Commerce, build relationships with experienced professionals, and seek opportunities to learn directly from people who are already doing what they aspire to do. Most importantly, find a strong mentor who can provide guidance, perspective, and support throughout their journey. I also emphasize the importance of maintaining an excellent personal and business credit history, as strong financial credibility can be an important foundation for long-term success.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are purpose, service, integrity, and continuous growth. At the end of the day, I want my work to have meaning and to know that I have made a positive difference by helping, teaching, encouraging, or opening doors for others. I believe in being a lifelong student, always remaining open to learning, growing, and finding new ways to make a meaningful impact on the people and communities around me.
